In this special one-off programme daredevil stuntman and motocross star Robbie Maddison attempts a spectacular feat in the heart of London. Robbie’s previous stunts include jumping the length of an American football field and scaling the heights of the replica Arc de Triomphe in Las Vegas – and his London leap promises to be equally impressive.

The location of this stunning event, the Tower Bridge of London, represents a huge logistical challenge. To pull it off, the stunt will require intense planning and nerves of steel as the fearless biker rides out into the unknown.

About Robbie Maddison:

Born in Kiama, New South Wales and now living in the US, Maddison has forged a reputation as one of the world’s foremost Freestyle Motocross (FMX) riders. He has won numerous consecutive contests and seized the Planet-X Summer Games Gold Medal in 2004. This summer he also won the Red Bull X-Fighters event in Canada, competing against the world’s best FMX riders.

In 2007, Maddison broke the world motorcycle jumping record by travelling 98 metres through the air over a football field. The following year, he smashed his own record twice, setting a final distance of 106.9 metres at the Crusty Demons Night of World Records show in Melbourne.

On New Year’s Eve 2008, Maddison hit the headlines once again with a gravity-defying leap off a ramp onto a life-size replica of the Arc de Triomphe in glitzy Las Vegas. He ended the stunt by riding off the monument and dropping 12 metres onto a second ramp, before returning to the ground – complete with a badly gashed hand.

Right before the Red Bull Xfighters action takeover Madrid, this Wednesday 15th July etnies FMX Pro riders “Twitch” and André Villa will be making an exclusive appearance at Conflict store, C/ Augusto Figueroa 3, Madrid.

From 18.00 on Wednesday Twitch and André Villa will be at Conflict to sign autographs and hand out etnies goodies. The first in line will receive an etnies teeshirt and everyone that turn up has a chance to win tickets to the Red Bull Xfighters events on Thursday and Friday.

Red Bull X-Fighters Madrid: Athletes from around the world are ready for the most traditional stop of the tour.
The best freestyle motocross riders in the world, both veterans and emerging stars, are gearing-up to complete in Madrid on Thursday, July 16 for the only “Best Trick” competition of the tour and on Friday, July 17 for an classic Red Bull X-Fighters event in the bullring of the Plaza de Toros “Las Ventas”.
The final rider invitation list includes previous Red Bull X-Fighters winner Mat Rebeaud (Switzerland), Dany Torres (Spain), Robbie Maddison (Australia), Jeremy “Twitch” Stenberg (USA) and talented newcomer Levi Sherwood (New Zealand), who won Red Bull X-XFighters Mexico earlier this year. Also competing are tourleader Eigo Sato (Japan), Thomas Pages (France), and Andre Villa (Norway). Rounding out the fiel are Nate Adams (USA), Adam Jones (USA), Cameron Sinclair (Australia) and Charles Pages (France).
The event on Friday, July 17 is sold out since weeks, but there are still Tickets available for the “Best Trick” competition on Thursday, July 16.

RT LEADS OFF THE NIGHTLY NEWS, HOT STORY

The hottest story of the night on the local Fox News Channel 7 was Ruthless & Toothless, leading the broadcast, ahead of several bank robberies, a hurricane-force freak-of-nature storm and Obama swimming on to sea to personally save 50 elderly WW2 vets on s inking ship. Or something like that. Either way, the story was hot, the tape quality not-so-much, as we present a retro throwback to 1988 with the quality of this clip. Yoj, Darren, Garver and MR.
